(Many thanks to HLCGA Treasurer Judy Andrews for the report. Poor Judy had to miss the AGM so that she could attend this in this dreadful venue. Thanks for suffering for us Judy!! Very well done to Chris Quinn (Hockley) who was runner-up in the England Golf Senior Women’s Amateur Championship which she won last year. This year it was held held at Sherwood Forest GC in Nottinghamshire, the home course of the winner, Janet Melville. Janet is the current holder of the EG Senior Women’s Strokeplay Championship and so it was always going to be a big ask for Chris to beat her at home. Chris didn’t allow Janet to win easily of course as the match went to the 17th where Janet won 2&1. Well done too to Joan Pullen (Basingstoke) who was in 24th place after the 36 hole strokeplay qualifying and so went through to the 2nd flight knockout. Junior MascotWhat a start to 2013 for our Juniors. Meet their new mascot. She is a gift from the very talented Joan Pitts (Basingstoke) who made her for our girls after seeing a similar (but not nearly as good) mascot at Junior County Match Week when it was held at Basingstoke last year. Our new Hampshire Girl will be named at the Junior Championship in April. Thank you Joan from all the girls.
